|
Stretching approximately 250 miles from north to
south, covering all of southern California from Bakers
Field to San Diego, Knanaya Catholic Congress of Los
Angeles was formed in 1992 under the leadership of
Fr. Abraham Mutholath. Mr. Thomas Parayankala was
the founding president of the association.
Preserving the centuries old heritage among the
community members and promoting and sustaining the
traditions and the unique endogomus structure among
the younger generation and the generations to come
were the guiding principles of the newly coceived
association.
During the past decade and a half, the association was
instrumental in maintaining the unity and closeness
with in the community.
The association name was changed to Knanaya Catholic
Congress of Southern California in 2003 in order to
reflect the wide geographical area encompassing its
jurisdiction. The present president is Mr. Cyriac Chettiath.
Our KCYL unit and Kids Club units are very active and
fully participate in all our functions.
